Flaming Lips again? Do we have to?

No Nada Surf!? I'm sure they're a lock.

the Tallest Man on Earth anybody? Playing Portland and Vancouver, but no Seattle, and tour ends May 28th.

This seems way too optimistic, but I hope you're right.

I'd be shocked if Soundgarden and The Flaming Lips were on the bill. Faith No More would be absolutely amazing, but I'm also not optimistic about that. I could definitely see Them Crooked Vultures, Band of Horses, Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, Peter John and Bjorn, The National, Owen Pallet, Dirty Projectors, and Portugal. The Man playing. I'd also love to see The Tallest Man on Earth, and there's a good chance that he'll be there. I'd also like to add some of these names:

-Nada Surf
-Lupe Fiasco
-Throw Me the Statue
-Beach House
-Dinosaur Jr.
-Broken Social Scene
-Deerhunter
-Fuck Buttons
-Quasi
-Stars
-Yeasayer
-Thom Yorke

If you are capable of getting tired of watching the Flaming Lips perform at the Gorge, then you have no soul.

Peter Gabriel would be a dream come true. I imagine he's perceived as being too stodgy for a festival that is primarily geared at people ages 22-35 or so. Maybe at Coachella, but not at `Squatch. But then again we did have R.E.M. (one of the best headliners in years).

Dream line-up would include:
-Fuck Buttons
-Yeasayer
-Dan Deacon
-MGMT
-Alexis Gideon
-Atlas Sound
-Clem Snide
-eels
-Ween
-The National
-themselves
-Oysterhead (hey, a guy can dream...)

I'd love to see some We Are Scientists, and possibly the Morning Benders. MB's new one "Big Echo" is so good, and they're both going to be at SXSW.

some (educated) guesses: My Morning Jacket, Kid Cudi, Brother Ali. There will be a bit more hip-hop this year.

Bryce said...

Brother Ali would be amazing, but Rhymesayers puts on the Soundset festival the same weekend as Sasquatch. Since most Rhymesayer artists (Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities, P.O.S., Grayskul, etc.) play every year, that decreases their chances of playing Sasquatch.

I agree though, I think we will be seeing more hip-hop.

Unknown said...

Let me actually change my comment. Those weren't guesses. My Morning Jacket, Kid Cudi, and Brother Ali WILL be there. I don't want to be a dick and give what I claim to be insider information without any proof to back it up, but that's what I'm doing. Also, seeing as how we'll have the lineup in a few short hours, you won't have to think I'm an asshole for very long.

Here's one none of you have piccked yet and I'm betting it's one of the strongest predictions yet!

TOM PETTY!!!!

Horned Gramma said...

So Why? is probably a sure thing -- maybe we get Themselves too? Or how about just a cLOUDDEAD reunion?

Bryce said...

Well, I'm definitely glad I was wrong about Brother Ali. Very excited to see him! Probably more than any other on there next to Pavement and Massive Attack.
