Sasquatch 2015!

Happy New Year, everyone! It's Sasquatch rumor season once again, and with less than a month until the lineup drops we're starting to get a pretty good idea of who might be playing! I'll be frequently updating the rumors section with the artists that are most likely going to play Sasquatch 2015. We're definitely going to have some overlap from other festivals like Coachella and Governor's Ball, so expect to see some of those names on the lineup when it's released in early February!

Sasquatch 2014 July Weekend Cancelled

Welp. This is a huge bummer, but after days of rumors spreading around, Sasquatch 2014's July weekend has officially been cancelled due to low ticket sales. This is a huge letdown for me since I thought that July's lineup was the better of the two. I guess that there just weren't enough bands to bring in the college bros.

Official statement from Jeff Trisler, President of Live Nation:

"The Sasquatch! community has spoken. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day Weekend with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not embraced. We felt it was better to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Going forward, Sasquatch! Musical Festival will be at the Gorge Amphitheatre on the weekends the fans want: Memorial Day Weekend only."

Ticket sales must have been REALLY bad to cancel the event entirely, which is surprising to me because that July lineup was seriously killer. I'm really bummed that Kraftwerk 3D won't be happening at the Gorge now.

It looks like some of the bands that were set to play at the Gorge on 4th of July weekend will now be relocating to Seattle. I'll be updating the list with each new date announced.

Robyn & Royksopp: 6/26 at Marymoor Park
Kraftwerk: 7/1 at the Paramount Theater
Fuck Buttons: 7/1 at The Crocodile
New Order: 7/6 at the Paramount Theater

New lineup additions!

Some new artists have been added to the lineup! KONGOS will be playing 4th of July weekend, and the legendary De La Soul will be playing on Memorial Day weekend! De La Soul are one of my personal favorites, so I absolutely cannot wait to see them perform at the Gorge!

I'll be updating this post with each lineup addition, as there will probably be more in the future.

Sasquatch 2014 Launch Party!

Here we go! The annual Sasquatch launch party will be happening on Monday, February 3rd at the Neptune Theater. This year will feature performances from Cold War Kids, St. Lucia, Sir Sly, and Derek and Pete from The Cave Singers. Absolutely free! You'll be able to grab your tickets on February 1st at 1 PM at the Neptune Theater box office. It's first come, first serve so get there as early as possible! The party starts at 8:00 PM.

Although most of the bands who perform at the launch party have ended up on the lineup in the past, it's never a guarantee. So we won't find out until the final lineup is released. Just a few more weeks of suspense!

Sasquatch 2014 Pre-Sale

It's official! Sasquatch 2014 presale begins this Friday, November 29th. Passes for both weekends will be available for $325 each, or $550 if you purchase both weekend passes at once. Pretty spendy, but since I was planning on going to both weekends anyway, it's a really great deal.

The lineup will be announced in February as usual. Only a couple of months away!

Sasquatch 2014 (Enter the Geno)

How's it goin, everyone? The name's Geno, and I'll be helping out with the blog from now on. Some of you might already know me from the Sasquatch forums, but for those who don't, here's a quick introduction.

Born and raised in Vancouver, WA, which is right on the border of Portland. I spend most of my free time listening to music and gaming. Both of these are huge passions of mine, so I'm always looking to explore and expand my tastes. I always have trouble picking my absolute favorite bands, but at the top would definitely be Ween and Opeth. I go to a lot of shows in Portland, about two every month on average, so that's where a lot of my hard earned cash goes. I'm not really one to talk about myself for too long, so I think I'll just leave it at that. If you honestly want to know more about me, just hang around the Sasquatch boards for a bit. You'll most likely bump into me there.

Anyways, on to business. Sasquatch rumor season is coming up pretty quick, and that's what I'll be updating this blog for mainly. As of now, we don't have any sort of hints as to who might be playing Sasquatch 2014, but that should change in the upcoming months. For those out of the loop, and for those who exclusively rely on this blog for Sasquatch info, the festival will be expanding into two separate 3-day weekends with two separate lineups. One taking place on Memorial Day weekend, and the other on Fourth of July weekend. How this will affect the overall lineup remains to be seen, but that just means twice the amount of Sasquatch next year. Can't argue with that!

So yeah, that's about it for now. I'll try to update this blog as frequently as I can with all the Sasquatch news and rumors. As I said earlier, it's about that time of year when the rumors start flying, most of which turn out to be true every year, so expect to see a lot of those in the next few months.

See you all soon!
