Sasquatch 2014 July Weekend Cancelled

Welp. This is a huge bummer, but after days of rumors spreading around, Sasquatch 2014's July weekend has officially been cancelled due to low ticket sales. This is a huge letdown for me since I thought that July's lineup was the better of the two. I guess that there just weren't enough bands to bring in the college bros.

Official statement from Jeff Trisler, President of Live Nation:

"The Sasquatch! community has spoken. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day Weekend with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not embraced. We felt it was better to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Going forward, Sasquatch! Musical Festival will be at the Gorge Amphitheatre on the weekends the fans want: Memorial Day Weekend only."

Ticket sales must have been REALLY bad to cancel the event entirely, which is surprising to me because that July lineup was seriously killer. I'm really bummed that Kraftwerk 3D won't be happening at the Gorge now.

It looks like some of the bands that were set to play at the Gorge on 4th of July weekend will now be relocating to Seattle. I'll be updating the list with each new date announced.

Robyn & Royksopp: 6/26 at Marymoor Park
Kraftwerk: 7/1 at the Paramount Theater
Fuck Buttons: 7/1 at The Crocodile
New Order: 7/6 at the Paramount Theater

New lineup additions!

Some new artists have been added to the lineup! KONGOS will be playing 4th of July weekend, and the legendary De La Soul will be playing on Memorial Day weekend! De La Soul are one of my personal favorites, so I absolutely cannot wait to see them perform at the Gorge!

I'll be updating this post with each lineup addition, as there will probably be more in the future.

Sasquatch 2014 Launch Party!

Here we go! The annual Sasquatch launch party will be happening on Monday, February 3rd at the Neptune Theater. This year will feature performances from Cold War Kids, St. Lucia, Sir Sly, and Derek and Pete from The Cave Singers. Absolutely free! You'll be able to grab your tickets on February 1st at 1 PM at the Neptune Theater box office. It's first come, first serve so get there as early as possible! The party starts at 8:00 PM.

Although most of the bands who perform at the launch party have ended up on the lineup in the past, it's never a guarantee. So we won't find out until the final lineup is released. Just a few more weeks of suspense!
