Predictions For Sasquatch! 2013 (Top 50)

These are my guesses based on some facts, some probability, and a lot of hunch/wishlist. It is not the actual lineup! For those who know how to count, you are correct, this isn't 50 acts.  I'll add more in the next couple days. It's a rough draft, so changes will be made. Typically I avoid predicting comedians, so I'm not going to use Nick Offerman to pad my stats.

NOTE: Regarding Primavera, the festivals share acts every year.  Yes, Primavera was a different weekend than Sasquatch last year, but it was the same weekend the previous years, and they still shared a handful of bands. If you've ever flown from the east coast to the west coast, you know with the time change, you land only a couple hours later.  It's similar flying from Europe. Primavera also is a Thursday-Saturday festival, while Sasquatch is Friday-Monday.  A band playing Thursday at Primavera could fly from Europe to Seattle, continue flying west, fly around the world back to Europe, then on to Seattle for a second time, and still make it in time for a Monday Sasquatch set.

  10. Father John Misty just announced a 5/25 date in PDX so he's basically confirmed for Sasquatch

    ReplyDelete
  11. So you are predicting no headliners for 2013?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Deadmau5, The XX, Tegan and Sara, and The Postal Service are headliners haha what else could be more of a headliner then Deadmau5 and The Postal Service haha

    ReplyDelete
  13. Have talked to atlas genius personally and they told me 100% they will be there. so confirm them.

    ReplyDelete
  14. THE KNIFE. OH PLEEEEEEASE THE KNIFE.

  17. As much as I would love for it to happen, I just don't see The Knife coming to Sasquatch. It would be an amazing show, no doubt about it, but it's incredibly unlikely given their current touring schedule and the fact that Coachella couldn't even book them.

I'd say there's about a 5% chance of them showing up. Not enough for me to get my hopes up.

  18. Noah and the whale:
"We’re delighted to announce that Noah and the Whale's fourth album is entitled ‘Heart Of Nowhere’ and will be released on May 6th. In addition the band will play ‘A Month of Sundays’, four shows at London’s Palace Theatre in April and May. Click here to pre-order the album and gain exclusive access to the ticket presale for these shows http://www.noahandthewhale.com/"

    They will be there

    ReplyDelete
  19. PEOPLE! look at primaveras lineup, which is the same weekend in barcelona. Many of these rumored acts are performing there so you can guarantee they wont be at sasquatch.

    ReplyDelete
  20. yeah except last year there were a handful of bands that played both

    ReplyDelete
  21. Last year, Sasquatch and Primavera didn't overlap directly (check the dates) but in previous years they have and some acts still played both. It's reasonable to expect some overlap, but probably only 5-7 bands if we're lucky.

  22. The Strokes? new album out in march

  23. This is kinda like some guesses that I would want...

Modest Mouse or Wilco (any 2011 headliner)
    Pheonix
    Imagine Dragons
    Atlas Genius
    She and Him
Other bands we have all heard will be there

It's not 50, more of a wishlist... hoping some of these that aren't mentioned in other posts wind up there though. Sasquatch isn't a dance music fest so some of these lineup guesses must be based on some theory that the banana shack will now be the main stage. I won't go if the top four are:

    Deadmau5
    Portishead
    The Postal Service
    The Knife

Would be the worst lineup unless you adore hard drugs.
    Good talk

  25. No way grizzly bear is playing sasquatch they are at primavera in spain

    ReplyDelete
  26. Primavera was from the 30th of may to the 3rd of june last year so it was not really the same weekend then.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ^^^ god i hope you're right. that looks incredible. first hypothetical lineup to get me really excited.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh god Anon, The lips, macklemore, alt-J, the XX, and the national would be enough to get me to do.

    ReplyDelete
  31. "I'd be more inclined to believe that Mother Mother would be there performing (with or without an orchestra), rather than have SRO playing Mother Mother."

You missed the joke. The list of bands is in billing order (for the most part).

Looks like Vampire Weekend will be there!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm hoping for Tame Impala and The Lumineers...not 100% sure of that likelihood. If Nei Young Goes I'd scream like a little bitch for an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Seems like all of the hubbub over Neil Young started from a misunderstanding of the full moon logos on his tour dates page ... Not saying he won't be on the poster when it gets released tonight, just that he's no more likely to be there than Portishead or The Knife, both of which look pretty damn unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Postal Service, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wavves, Father John Misty, and FIDLAR will all be there (I hope)
