Sasquatch! 2011 Lineup To Be Released February 6th, At The Second Annual Launch Party

According to Seattle Weekly, the 2011 Sasquatch! Launch Party will take place at Showbox at the Market in Seattle, Sunday, February 6th, where the initial lineup will be unveiled. Also thanks to dildon on the Sasquatch Message Board who pointed out Das Racist will be playing the event, according to the Sasquatch Launch Party Myspace. What appears to have gone unnoticed by the online community is that Das Racist has also confirmed via Myspace they will be playing the actual festival as well, Sunday, May 29th.

By pointing this out, I may be upsetting the twelve of us Sasquatch regulars fanatical about Das Racist, but I am extremely excited they will be on the lineup. They top my short list of up-and-coming acts I need to see live. A lot of you dislike hip hop already, so I don't feel I'm shortchanging the die-hards who want to be on the rail for their performance. I'll speculate a closing set on the Yeti Stage, similar to the slot Why? played last year. Das Racist is playing Primavera the same weekend (May 26th, according to their Myspace), so I wouldn't expect an early show.

  1. Pretty excited about Das Racist too. It's the only hip-hop / rap I have on my iPod.

  6. I don't think that exclusive to Ultra Music fest means that bands won't be able to play other festivals later in the year, because I can easily see cut copy playing and holy ghost! playing the dance tent this year. Also, I'm really hoping they bring back crystal castles, maybe for a late night set, and I wouldn't mind seeing Gui Boratto at sasquatch either

  7. The "exclusive" tag on the Ultra sight does not mean exclusive to all U.S. music festivals. Case in point, STS9 is listed as exclusive, yet is playing Wakarusa in early June. a handful of the acts listed as exclusive are rumored to be at Coachella as well.

If Cut Copy ends up on the Coachella lineup, the odds of them playing Sasquatch increase.

  8. Bright Eyes won't play the gorge because the House of Blues has ties to Clear Channel. Conor Oberst refuses to play clear channel venues. Therefore Bright Eyes can be removed from the rumors list.

  9. Considering this will be the last tour with the Bright Eyes lineup, presumably, Conor may give up his bullshit holier-than-thou corporate hangups and do a good festival show. He's done coachella before, how is sasquatch any different?

  11. I would consider chopping off my right testicle to see fleet foxes on the line-up

  12. The Strokes are going to play it. Mark my motherfucking words.

  13. The Strokes would be the ultimate choice.

  14. Coachella is different because it doesn't have any ties to clear channel. Bright Eyes will definitely not be playing Sasquatch this year or any year. Bright Eyes has never played there before, nor has Conor Oberst and TMVB, nor has the monsters of folk. Refuses to play clear channel venues. I'm not sure how Bright Eyes even ended up on the rumor list.

  15. Bright Eyes is playing Coachella on the Saturday. So I guess they should be on the rumour list.

  16. Only Girl Not In Love, I agree. The Seattle show makes Cut Copy less likely.

  17. Alright, all i'm saying is Clearchannel doesn't give a shit if bright eyes protests their festivals. They're going to make their $, regardless. You think Coachella doesn't suckle from the corporate teet? Please. Maybe Conor can get over himself enough to play in one of the best festivals on the west coast while he's still somewhat relevant. Btw, both Jim James and M Ward (twice!) have played Sas so MoF not playing isn't entirely accurate.

  18. Animal Collective.

  19. I second the love for a Fleet Foxes return, but will elect to keep my testes.

  20. I'm sure there isn't much chance of of it, but in the vein of what "I Said" said about Fleet Foxes, I would at least go as far as having a couple of teeth removed if I knew it meant a chance to see Deerhunter.

  21. I expect the following will be in the lineup: The Moondoggies, Say Hi, Delta Spirit, !!!

  22. Lykke Li will probably play on Sunday

  23. Does anyone know how long the 4 day passes will be available? If single day passes go on sale February 12th, does that mean the 4 day passes will be available until then?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, unless you're just taking a wild guess.

  24. Sleigh Bells and Neon Indian are playing the Wonder Ballroom on May 26th, and there isn't a Seattle date.

  25. I do believe either CSS, Sleigh Bells or Neon Indians. They're coming through the are and have a big blank spot on the schedule during Sasquatch.

  26. Sleigh Bells is touring down the West Coast with a mysterious break this weekend between shows in Portland and San Francisco, and no show scheduled in Seattle... dammit I wanted to see them in Seattle for cheaps

  27. Anyone else notice Wolf Parade was taken off the confirmations list? It's probably just a mistake, considering they confirmed it on their website, but anything could happen. Has their been new information that I missed?

  28. Arcade Fire has Sasquatch on their list! Is this real?! http://concertful.com/concert/arcade-fire/

  29. Does anyone have a realistic estimate as to how much tickets will cost in late February to early Mach? I realize they will probably be sold out by then, but there are going to be hundreds of people on ebay and Craig's list selling them. How much do you think they'll be selling those for? I'm asking because I won't have any money until then.

  30. I'd guess a four day pass will go for $700. Call mom and dad. Buy now.

  31. Mom and Dad are not that kind. :(
